Jaguar Land Rover has unveiled the new Defender Wolf Series II, its proposed next-generation Light Mobility Vehicle (LMV) for the British Army. Based on the current Defender platform, the Wolf II has been developed specifically for military use, with enhanced payload, off-road capability and a modular design intended to support a wide range of roles. JLR says the vehicle has undergone more than 62,000 engineering tests and covered over one million miles during development.

The new Defender Wolf II is being offered in several configurations, including tactical, utility and specialist variants, with the platform capable of supporting up to 26 different configurations. With a 250bhp diesel engine, 1,000kg payload in the four-seat tactical version and the ability to tow up to 3,500kg, the vehicle is designed to provide a flexible solution for modern military operations. The Wolf II is currently a contender for the British Army’s LMV requirement, which is intended to replace its ageing light mobility fleet from around 2030.
